When a pump, compressor, crusher, screen or another critical rotating machine fails, the replacement bearings have to match the original exactly and arrive quickly. Shock loads, vibration and high temperature are common in these positions, so suffixes for cage, clearance and heat stabilisation matter. Technical approvers will not accept a substitute they have not checked, even under time pressure.
- Confirm the vibratory-duty and cage suffixes for crusher and vibrating screen bearings, because a standard design can fail early under shock loads.
- Record the clearance class of the failed bearing (for example C3 or C4) and replace it with the same class unless an approved change is made.
- Order the matching seals, sleeves and locking parts with the bearing, so the repair is not held up by a missing accessory.
- List any acceptable alternative designations separately, so the technical approver can sign them off before the order is placed.
